You need 2/3 of the Senate to convict. That means 67 Senators. I don't think there are 17 Republicans who will vote to convict. Less than ten, my guess is 6 or 7.

Trump will be acquitted. But the Republican Senators, just like the Representatives in the House, will be on record being for insurrection and sedition. They will have to defend that to constituents.

I hope the Democratic Party and its allies exploit this in every state in every election in 2022.
