So, I only found one thread about the trial, and they stick to their story that it wasn't magats. It was liberals trying to fool Americans into believing what the dems say. It was liberals dressed up as magats.
And it was peaceful, for the most part. The trial is anti-trump propaganda, and nothing else.
No idea if any of them even watched any of it.

(22,513 posts)Didn't see everything, but the replies were very short and I didn't notice links to helpful articles. I read the replies to a heading on Asian Americans being bullied. Most were cold hearted, but a couple tried to defend Asians. On the other hand... the senate trial. Turns out not a single person involved knows squat about the constitution or loyalty to the cult. No explanations, sources, legal quotes, nothing but an unending whine as to the constitutional stupidity infecting everyone in the Senate. Well... It's different in their side of the world!!!

It's always the same for the Cons.
And they're ALWAYS objectively f***ing WRONG.
Hell, these idiots first rejected the idea of the human ovum when its existence was confirmed (via microscope) in the 1800's. They were very attached to the idea that sperm was 'the seed' and the womb simply the 'field' into which it was planted and grew. That whole 'female egg' thing was trickery, and obviously the Devil's Work.
For real, look it up

(4,874 posts)The "republicans" are not swayed. Democrats also said mean things against Trump, so Trump is not to blame.
Yeah, I know. Didn't make any sense to me either.

(100,068 posts)I live on a street with some very rabid Trumpsters. We have a weekly meeting outside which gives us an excuse to drink and shoot the shit about anything. Last week things took a turn and I found out which of my neighbors are racist. And somehow the conversation drifted towards LA mayor Eric Garcetti. And my neighbor who lives across the street - who is a hardcore Trumper and fought BLM people in a local protest (that ended with a car driving into it), blurted out "OH HE'S FUNDED BY GEORGE SOROS!". Then he proceeded to trash San Francisco for no reason. I visibly facepalmed after that comment.

(100,068 posts)The theories that two of the guys were floating about gender identity, trans athletes, and sex education in schools were unbelievably offensive and making things uncomfortable. It was at that point I ordered some takeout and got the hell out of there. One of the other guys even mentioned that he wasn't watching the Super Bowl because the NFL supported Black Lives Matter and was going to watch the Puppy Bowl instead.
At least my next door neighbor is cool and he's mostly on my side politically so we get along there. But it's no mistake that I do live in a super far right area. I need to find a new place to live.

(100,068 posts)I never knew how toxic the politics really were in my area until the 2020 election. I mentioned the BLM protest in my city happened back in September last year. I drove on that street that day only to find that it was overrun with Trumpers and the BLM protest barely edged out of the library parking lot. Well here's how that ended:

To find out my own neighbors were involved is not surprising, but also leaves me with a very unfavorable opinion of them.
