I'll bet that hurts, good.
Donald Trumps second impeachment trial is probably not the only concern he currently has. Twitter, Trumps social media platform of choice, confirmed that the former president is facing a lifelong ban, not a temporary ban, from the platform. Whether or not Trump decides to run for president again will not impact this decisionhe will remain banned, Twitter Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal told CNBC News.
The way our policies work, when youre removed from the platform, youre removed from the platform whether youre a commentator, youre a CFO, or you are a former or current public official, Segal said. Remember, our policies are designed to make sure that people are not inciting violence, and if anybody does that, we have to remove them from the service and our policies don't allow people to come back."

(5,334 posts)One disgusting act too far for Twitter?
Four years too late, but I will applaud it anyway.

(5,128 posts)It has been terribly nice to not hear from him and look forward to never hearing from him again.
Let me add how much I have disliked the tweet machine from the beginning. It started with our daughter at the very beginning. We would meet her once a week at a restaurant and she would not put her phone down.
I wanted to smash the phone or throw it through the nearest window.
Twitter has not helped at DU much either, imho either.
Sorry, again.

(63,221 posts)I am so glad to hear that! Now, if we could only insure that we could ban his face and voice from evaer being publicly heard again, I would be satisfied. He is ablsolutey despicable. I never want to hear that disgusting voice again. Nor do I want to see his hideous face.

(37,157 posts)I mean, hooray, but for now Twitter sees Trump as a brand (and potentially legal) liability, so a "permanent ban" is easy. As time goes by, especially if there is a 2024 run, changes to policy or exceptions for some "pressing" reason can happen too.
So, we'll see.
