... pay for a hotel, wear a funny costume, storm the capitol, break windows and doors, beat up cops, then this all must be done because, well, the president says so.
But, if the next president tells that same someone to wear a mask and maintain social distance, that president must be trampling all over my civil and human rights?
Of course, this is not an actual question that's worthy of a thoughtful answer. Just grumbling here.

(933 posts)Maybe the question should be from the other side. How can peoples lives be so empty and rudderless they listen to an evident fool and criminal to simply drop everything and take up that cause?
Why arent they busy living their lives? Why dont they have the education or mental discipline to shake it off?
There are some t-shirts or hats I might enjoy wearing but Im not paying $28 for a t-shirt or $45 for a hat. And dont get me wrong, I can buy cases of the stuff but Im just not paying THAT PRICE. Where is the critical thinking? Where is the adult evaluation that looks at the object and makes the calculation that the money or activity is better applied in another, more constructive direction instead of a destructive one? Or a short-term feel good thats over the minute buyers remorse hits?
