Dominion Voting Systems has been the target of conspiracy theories emanating from Trump loyalists accusing the election technology company of being complicit in mass voter fraud during the 2020 election. In recent days and weeks, Dominion has fought back, putting on notice figures like attorney Sydney Powell, who attempted to avoid being served with a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion in January.
Now, the company has turned its sights towards Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani.
"Rudy Giuliani has been served court papers in Dominion's $1.3 B defamation suit against him," The Hill's John Kruzel reported this Thursday, adding that Giuliani has until March 3 to answer.

"Just as Giuliani and his allies intended, the Big Lie went viral on social media as people tweeted, retweeted, and raged that Dominion had stolen their votes. While some lies -- little lies -- flare up on social media and die with the next news cycle, the Big Lie was different," Dominion wrote in their lawsuit. "The harm to Dominion's business and reputation is unprecedented and irreparable because of how fervently millions of people believe it."

(10,122 posts)From the court cases over the election, Rudy seemed to know he can't lie to a court (but had no problem lying to the public).
Can't wait for March 3rd.

(58,785 posts)is estimated by one source at @$45 million, brought in through his consulting firm, occasional attorney work, and -- a big one -- for a lot of years earning "upwards of" $300,000 for speaking engagements.
So, hoping Dominion relieves him of a nice chunk and that years of other legal troubles relieve him of a lot more. Blackmailers, and maybe even yet another ex-wife in his lonely years, can take him for all they can get with my good wishes. No point hoping he could end up destitute, but at 76 the rest of his life may be nothing but tsuris, and I certainly wish him that.

(302 posts)And exhausting. A real court process requires things like facts and evidence and inconvenient things like accuracy and abiding by a judge's direction under the rules of the court.
He will be on the wrong end of the legal system for the foreseeable future--for a long, long time.

(15,708 posts)areas also. There was only 1 voting company not attacked by the R's. That was ES&S. Which is used a lot in the southern states like Arkansas. If the Rs can do it so can the D's in the primaries. It may explain why in some primaries that the D that is elected in the primary is not a winnable candidate in the general election. But then the General is not a true count also.

(302 posts)If the Dem's protest, they will chastise them for being hypocrites. I'm sure it's already in the works.
I am of the opinion the R's have been stealing computer votes since George Jr. when they outlawed exit polls. If Biden does not require open certification of ALL states' voting machines, amongst other election reforms, the R's will be ratcheting up their game the next time around. This needs to be done immediately because everything can be undone once the R's get in control, by hook or by crook.

...that this is all a strategy to steal votes in the future. Trump, knowing he won't be convicted, is laying the groundwork to rig the system to facilitate his fever dream of absolute authoritarian control. We know he has his army now.
