Terrorism & Travel
Only rarely is the attack on the Capitol described as a terrorist attack. More often, it's a mob or a violent mob, or "merely" an attack.
I think it's a dictionary definition of terrorism.
I gather that the US doesn't really have laws against terrorism. It has definitions, but not specific laws. I think. So no one is going to be charged with a terrorist act. Is this correct?
What I'm getting at is a means of dragging into the net the people who funded the January 6 event - Trump, Mercer, et al. If there is no one convicted of terrorism, the funders can't be rule funders of terrorism.
However. . . what if one or more groups involved in the attack is identified as a terrorist group, e.g., Proud Boys, Oathkeepers, etc. And people indicted are identified as members of those groups. Then can trump, mercer, et al be swept in as funders of terrorism?
Related questions. Regarding those people who have been indicted or charged - can they be placed on the US no-fly list? Can other countries put them on their no-fly lists without convictions?
