if the insurrection was a success,

what the hell kind of government did these assholes have in mind to install? Did they expect to roll back all social programs, cut all taxes to the bone, get rid of enviromental regulations and workers rights?

It's taken over 200 years to have this functional (pretty much so anyway) system taking care of the 300 million of us.

Was it gonna be a everyone grab what they want or can with strongmen in each state, county, city and enclave? It makes no sense to me at all and am befuddled what the end game was.

I've even thought of a Putinesque take over where the baddest guy gets to hand out the goodies to his friends. But who runs the sewerage plant??

thanks in advance.

Trump could never appoint enough justices, because none of them would feel beholden to him, over upholding the constitution.

There were certainly folks in that mob who had very definite objectives to accomplish besides "watch me take a hilarious selfie that I'll wish very soon I hadn't taken."

to exploit and control, hence the disgusting smearing of feces for the little people to sort out and clean up while the privileged (and without fault of any good "discrimination," meaning judgment) recreate and re-create). Already, I know one POC (Latinx heritage) who does that "dirty work" in SF, but as yet that individual's work does pretty much best benefit locals who live there and a greater goal of sanitation for all. Here's a mountain of mole hill to think on... The really moronic and, ungrateful for their privilege, insurrectionists just wanted to re-install their Chosen One forever because that's what he wanted! End of Plan!

things would have fallen apart pretty fast. Most of these people couldn't run a self-serve laundry, let alone an intricate clockwork mechanism like a national government and the national technical infrastructure that keeps it running. Frankly, I'm surprised we made it past four years of Dump with anything intact as it is. Another four years of top down mismanagement would have sunk us...and add to that the fact that many of us would have thrown an increasing amount of spanners in the works if we were living under a second Dump term via coup.

WE are the people who know how things work...things that are more complex than an alternator on a Dodge Ram...so I suspect that you would have had an awful lot of people in the tech world (for starters) who would have been REALLY unhappy with working in a country stolen via the redneck rampage. At some point you just say "fuck it...nothing left to lose anymore" and that would have been where things got really problematic.

AND on top of that, I suspect that the international patience with us would have ended at that point. I think a LOT of people, domestic and otherwise, were just holding their breath and waiting for the grownups to take over after four years of feces-flinging monkeys capering about in the white house. So I think we would have entered failed state territory within a year or so...maybe two.

Just my take on it all.

what you expressed is what I was looking for. Sure, the redneck renegades could have killed every senator and rep but at the end of the day, something has to be done with the tax dollars coming in, the tax dollars going out,, , the military machine, the beneficial programs we provide along with highways, byways, dams, national parks & forests, and the rest of the treasure trove of assets the United States is composed of. Who was going to run them? Who was going to pay wages or not to the citizens that actually turn the wheel?

Who, and I mean this, WHO has the wherewithal to tie it all together and keep it running better than the worst scrap yard ever. And, most important, HOW?

I apologize, I did not mean "running it better", I meant just running it at all.

The various systems would limp along on the efforts of that bureaucracy that Rotten Ronnie so disparaged, but it would continue crumbling. Assuming no rebellion against the rebellion, see North Korea for where we'd end up.

...except to try to find Pence, and Pelosi, and AOC and I guess kill them.

And Trump was at least smart enough to not give them explicit instructions so it could not be directly traced to him. He just hung every one of those poor suckers (and violent shitheads) out to dry. Let 'em all face charges. I hope these thugs finally got the idea that Trump is not someone you can trust.
