I just wish there was a way to increase supply immediately. I know there’s not, but it’s frustrating. I’m a cancer patient under 65. In NC this puts me in Group 4. They’re only on Group 2 now. It will be at least April before I can get a shot unless supply increases a lot quickly.

It’s great news regardless but I’m not sure how big of an effect it will have. Assuming J&J is approved later this month we were already on track to have sufficient supply by summer.

With this news of 200 Million more doses procured, maybe the next group of folks can get a shot. DH is 63 and has heart issues, I cannot wait for him to get those shots! Thanks Joe and Thanx to NDog for the news!

“The purchases would increase available supply by 50%, bringing the total to 600 million doses ... The new deals are unlikely to make vaccine widely available much sooner than originally anticipated, but they would prevent a shortfall later in the year."

While it is good news, it will not have an immediate effect. I’m in the same boat as your husband. I’m a 56 yo cancer patient. DH is 64 with health issues as well. Neither of us qualify yet.
