Especially if there are one or more "smoking guns?"

(32,017 posts)Whats required to make it happen is a DC District Attorney or a US Attorney with the courage and conviction to take on a very lengthy, expensive, and difficult fight.
Is there such a person? I dont know. Georgia found one.

(7,132 posts)Prosecutable!
Impeachment only gets him out of office. Federal charges can put him in a courtroom.
All you need is an AG to set it in motion, call for a grand jury, and if they indict - he goes TO COURT! A real court. That can send him to prison!
Cmon, Merrick Garland!!!

(15,246 posts)That's why Neal Katyal was saying last night that Merrick Garland will have a very tough decision on whether or not to investigate Trump.
I believe he could be prosecuted for seditious conspiracy especially if it can be proven he coordinated electoral vote certification objections with Cruz and/or Hawley (we already know he tried with Tuberville)
in order to keep Congress in session long enough for his mob to decend on the Capitol and stop the certification.
