10. We knew at the time

that the only way they got him to go to the hospital was to point out that if he waited and got worse and had to go later, he might leave the WH on a stretcher. So he went with the "checked into hospital still under his own power" option over "wheeled into Walter Reed on a stretcher".

Reluctant kudos to whichever WH spinmeister used his fear of weakness to manipulate him into that decision by reframing the choice that way.
