If they had killed half the members of Congress and Pence, and burned the building to the ground, Biden would still have been sworn in on January 20th.

a "next step" if the insurrectionists had done their worst. I can't imagine that all the planning and coordination that must have taken place behind the scenes did not envision what the "next step" would encompass. But maybe I am giving these treacherous snakes too much credit.

The Dems pulled it off magnificently.

They made their case on live TV for the world to see. And we saw a lot. We saw the GOP not giving one shit as they read novels and doodled on pads while not giving the time of day to the proceedings. I read a dozen didn't even bother to show up today. They are jurors in a trial and they didn't bother to listen. Hmm, said jurors had time to meet with the defense lawyers to plot strategy. That has to be illegal, but what do I know.
