Except for this: it wasnt legal. And Trump and his team knew it.
In fact, the Park Service reiterated, days before the Trump rally, The permit does not authorize a march from the Ellipse.
As an insider who planned the rally told us, sponsor Women for America First was stunned by Trumps seemingly spontaneous call for a march in violation of the permit. It was shocking. Its something we advocated against doing for exactly the reasons that ended up playing themselves out.
In other words, the riot was foreseeable and resulted directly from Trumps call to march. As the permit holders understood, sending thousands of angry people, some armed, meant there was no warning to the Metro or Capitol police, no monitors to direct or control the crowd.

(6,856 posts)Who pulled the permit? Who posted the bond for the permit? What did the permit allow?
Sharpton said he had organized hundreds of demonstrations and the limitations are always in black and white.
Turns out he was totally right.

(43,342 posts)Bolshevism was aided by many factors. Confusion, inept government, WWI. They saw a path to power and pushed moderates, the existing government, moderate parts of the military, aside. But there's always the issue of Lenin, passing entirely through the theater of war, on a diplomatically sealed train. There was a book popular in the 20th century, "To the Finland Station".
Bolshevism of course an insurrection from the left, the storming of the Palace. Jan 6 was an insurrection from the fascist right. And there is the issue in 1917, of Bolshevism being a 'proletarian' rebellion led by elites. Leaders in the Soviet Union did not live a proletarian lifestyle. They had limos, and dachas, caviar and vodka, and maintained ties to western elites in banking and oil to keep their government afloat.

(42,770 posts)My mind, the missing link is the leap from going down to the Capitol and raising hell from outside and storming in.
So what's needed is evidence that trump knew that certain groups were going to get in there.

(42,770 posts)was proof he wanted it to happen! I'm talking about hard evidence he knew they would break in before it happened.

(42,770 posts)But you may be right! Like he said... He knew if he shot someone on fifth ave...
That's a WHOLE lot of confidence.
If he didn't help plan it...makes sense now why he would be gleeful seeing it unfold. Or like they said yesterday, his admin should have been privy to right winger convos. Maybe he didn't plan but knew what was going down and he just nudged it.
