Not only was it an asshole move, it looks to be illegal.

(7,286 posts)I haven't been following this feud, I've been otherwise occupied on the Senate Trial, and just a little concerned about the infiltration of Fascists White Nationalists in the Senate and Congress.
So pardon me as I am expressing a little bit of confusion about an important ally like TLP.

(1,977 posts)Is the gripe that TLP posted a direct message that someone sent them on the platform? If so.... Theb dont send them a DM.

(68,703 posts)clearly what went on before was not a winning strategy.
Celerity
(43,579 posts)The Democratic party is not going to lurch further to the right policy-wise and become some barely centre left to centrist on over to borderline solid mid-right blob, that is electorally suicidal and would be disastrous for the nation as a whole. And those characterisations (label-wise) are all on the 'very artificially skewed to the right' American scale to begin with. What passes for centrist and centre right in the US would be solidly fairly hard to very hard RW in most all other advanced Western nations.

(16,420 posts)I'm glad Yashar and Twitter clarified.
I'm surprised it's okay to post hacked material, but if those are the rules those are the rules.

(9,127 posts)I'm surprised how much this is getting swept under the rug on DU. They knew. Hell, I mentioned it on DU over a month ago. How did I know about Weaver before Schmidt and Wilson did?
Can we stop advertising these amoral Republicans, now? When even the AP is like, "Er, where is all their money?" it's a problem. now the New Yorker is getting in on them.
If we overlook very serious crimes just because they temporarily share our politics, how are we much better?
I keep wondering if these were young women being victimized instead of young men, would the reaction still be this indifference and defense of them?
My homophobia sense is starting to tingle about all of this.

Sorry, not having this.
We have morals and standards, or we do not.
I'm now waiting to see who does not with this one.

(9,328 posts)And your evidence is?
The guy, Weaver, was in the closet; deep in the closet.
Sympthsical
(9,127 posts)Maybe people should stop trying to put their heads in the sand on this one. It's been known at least since June, but there is a lot going around that it was known for ages. Schmidt and Weaver were together on McCain's team. The behavior was widespread, persistent, and not exactly an iron secret.
What would you say if this were Republicans?
Oh wait, it is Republicans.
My Pet Orangutan
(9,328 posts)Just because you say so, don't make it so.
Sympthsical
(9,127 posts)And I don't want to post about it here. I think it'd just end up hidden.
That's not a great look.

(9,127 posts)Nowhere did I say anything like this. You put some pretty heinous things into my mouth there. Buy a guy a drink first.
And you're beginning to illustrate what I'm talking about here.
Demsrule86
(68,703 posts)It did interest me that you are continuing to work this story when really there is nothing left to say unless and until we have new information...and now you are intimating that Democrats who don't agree with you have a questionable moral character...you are running a 'test' on our character I guess.
And, by the way my daughter is Gay, engaged to a lovely young women and will get married in August of 22. Child molestation if that is what this guy did is not about being Gay but about being a predator.

(9,127 posts)But, I know who I am that way.
You're just blatantly lying about every part of what I said. Dirty pool.
My politics don't work that way. They don't go so far. They don't shrug when sexual predation and the enablers of it are in front of me.
