The Senate Republicans have miscalculated . This akin to the Iran war vote. It will follow them-

destroying their presidential aspirations...Nikki Haley's decision to turn on Trump now has me wondering it this is the case. We know she wants to run for president in 24. She is not stupid.

Imagine if enough Republicans finally see the writing on the wall and vote to convict!

I know it's highly unlikely. Still, I have my hopes...

disqualifies them from running for president...Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley...both traitors who don't belong anywhere near the White House...Tom Cotton and whoever else who refuse to convict are not fit hold office...and maybe this vote will stop one or more of them.

There is no "moderate" leadership to marginalize the Trumpers.

If GOPers convict, the split with Trumpers will be irreparable. If they vote to acquit, they hand over the party to Trump, and the GOP will have committed suicide.

That's quite a choice, but it's one of their own making. Choosing to allow Trump to lead was for short term gain with no consideration for the medium and long term. They messed up badly. Now they will pay.

" I am from the government and here to help you". If you don't believe that government can be used for legitimate purposes...than you are on a path to destroy it. The Republican Party must die so our Republic can live.

years destroying Hillary...I hear way more 'but her emails' than anything about the war vote. And Stein took votes that Hillary would have won without her being on the ballot IMHO. I also think the second announcement by Comey play a huge roll in Clinton's loss. I hate Comey and will until the day I die. I want Biden to fire the entire New York Office too...they were leaking shit all during the election.

And it was brought up this year by multiple primary candidates as a way to attack Joe Biden...in a different year I think it would have worked. And remember that vote was almost a decade ago...this vote will be fresh in 22 and 24.

at least not in the short term. The Iraq War vote was much more difficult for Democrats than it was them at the time, when the public had just been traumatized by 9/11 and we were looking for some payback, even if it was misdirected.

at the time. 9-11 caused a blood bath for Democrats in terms of elections...Max Cleland lost in 2002. Many good Democrats went down. And given what happened in 2000, I don't think Bush would have been reelected in 2004 without the war.

That would include the names and states or residency of all of the people who voted to acquit trump. A wall of shame and dishonor, to be erected in a prominent place in D.C.
