Imagine how it feels as a member of the press to be treated with kindness and respect. What a welcome change.

More street cred as the anti-trump.

(2,008 posts)Not that it should be too hard if you know that one is 14 years old and the other is 2. Champ is quick to lay down and just watch Major, the young whippersnapper, run around exploring.
And I love that they "got Champ a dog" as a way to keep him healthy!

(2,191 posts)They had been afraid that a younger dog would pester her, but she perked up immediately and they think it added two years to her life. (But they had lost a dog recently, so that might have been the difference.)

(31,008 posts)I covered senator and vice president Biden for years as a photographer for the local newspaper in Wilmington. He always respected what we did and treated us like human beings, and never got in the way of us doing our job. not all politicians are like that. I remember when the reporters were waiting outside the gate at his house just before the announcement that Obama had picked him. He came out with two large containers of coffee and a box of donuts for the press.

(31,008 posts)I really never thought he would be president since we only carry three electoral votes, but I was always impressed with the way he treated people and his knowledge of the issues. So yeah I feel lucky I got to know him. Even in a professional capacity. And in Delaware we were used to rubbing elbows with our senators and governors. I live pretty close to his house maybe three or 4 miles to where he did live. And hes well-known and very popular here in the neighborhood at the local businesses and Jill as well.

I just love the Bidens. I understand why Obama chose him as his VP.

Something failed#45 and Melania couldn't muster. Same for the rest of the horrid failed#45 tribe, really.
+1 love the dogs! So relaxed around a bunch of strangers! Take their cue from their dad, I'd say.
EDIT: Should that be 'failed#45 with two scoops of impeachment' or failed#45II' for short?

(11,563 posts)Thinking about the press and their new-found place in the firmament, Jen Psaki came to mind. What a treasure, what a breath of fresh air.
It makes me wonder who else the White House has in their bullpen.
Anyway, these sorts of organizations (as if there was another one like THIS one) very much take their cues from the top down. 43 had nasty press secretaries and spokesmodels, 44 did not. 45 had dogs barely on this side of rabid. 46 has the best in memory, at least so far. I'm sure it's correlative.
