CONFIRMED: A source close to House Managers tells me that David Schoen was not telling the truth when he said Trumps lawyers had not been given the new video evidence of the Capitol attack. That person says trial rules required giving Trump lawyers the videos before the start.

(28,472 posts)I know that's the same thing as "not telling the truth," but it sure spells it out much more clearly for people in the back rows.

(47,057 posts)They lie even when the don't have to because it is second nature.
And of course they lie to weasel out of all the crimes they commit.
They blame others, create confusion and chaos.
It is their MO.

(11,738 posts)Why would we expect anything different? Rhetorical question. We do so because Democratic party members expect that there be some ethical guide for conduct. Typically in a court setting, lying would bring sanctions and significant consequences. As this is not a court of law however, the expectation is honorable conduct within the halls of Congress. To be sure, there are rules, but we know that many if not most, of not all Republicans in Congress have no regards for rules or ethics.
Of course Schoen lied. All they have as any kind of strategy are lies.
