Fact check: Trump lawyers make multiple false claims in impeachment defense

Here is a fact check of some of their claims:

Defense team misleadingly omits Trump remarks defending violence
Trump's lawyer falsely claims Trump's first two tweets during the Capitol attack urged calm

No, the media wasn't lying that there was hacking during the 2016 election

Castor falsely claims rioters didn't attend Trump's DC speech

No, Georgia did not see a 'dramatic drop' in ballot rejection rates

and that was an argument, I think done by Van der Veen near the end of the questioning, where he kept on insisting that the Article of Impeachment was for "Incitement of Riot". No dumbass, it wasn't. It was for "Incitement of Insurrection".

This was purposely done in order to somehow compare/link the "riots" (and looting) during BLM protests and the anti-police protests in Washington & Oregon, with the insurrection that happened at the Capitol that ALSO involved "a riot" (and in fact, multiple "riots" - both inside and outside the Capitol), which were done for the purpose of essentially, overthrowing an election, and thus overthrowing the government.

Legally, there's a big honkin' difference between a "riot" and "an insurrection".

Joy Reid today on MSNBC (paraphrasing) defense was a “a stand-in for a Trump tweet-storm”.
