has not condemned the riot and insurrection either?
He was VP... why has he not defended our Democracy?
Where us his denunciation of the mob that called for his execution, let alone the monster who egg ed them on?
Asking for a friend.

(11,849 posts)He has protection that you and I are paying for. He has a responsibility that goes with high office that he has shirked. He took an oath also.
No pass for Pence.

Plus, I think he and Mother are scared.

(855 posts)I'll keep this part of my original post: He did defend the democracy on Jan 6-7.
For the rest, I stand corrected on viewing the video posted above.

(10,047 posts)was the one disparaging Pence and sending the rioters on him, when in fact he knew Pence could not and would not change the vote. Sure there were a lot of people screaming stop the steal but it was only Trump that sent them for Pence.
TwilightZone
(25,464 posts)I agree with Pence on basically nothing politically, but he didn't deserve this, particularly at the behest of "his" president. He also condemned the insurrection quite pointedly when the certification restarted.

The MSM is complicit in the efforts to mold "reality". Recall who owns MSM.
The assholes are on TV to the USA and World, lying about what recently occurred on and is on readily available video tape; allowed by MSM, not just Faux.
Yeah good question where is Pence? Reportedly Pence and Trump did not speak until 5 days after January 6. Pence knows and should be legally punished if he does not of his own volition come forward and speak the truth.

(32,685 posts)against trump & the mob, why the hell would he expect his former colleagues in Congress to stand up for him?
I'm glad pence did the right thing by not pretending that he had power to change the outcome of the election, but pence had complete control over what would happen next with regard to trump.
He ducked and dodged his own duties, so for me, it's a wash.

Luckily, Twitter stepped in, cancelled trump's account and saved our republic.

(5,125 posts)BECAUSE PENCE DID DENOUNCE the Capitol Riots ON JAN 6
https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/533042-pence-denounces-capitol-rioters-violence-never-wins
BY MORGAN CHALFANT - 01/06/21 08:37 PM EST
Vice President Pence late Wednesday evening denounced the violence at the U.S. Capitol in remarks on the Senate floor as lawmakers reconvened to resume the counting of Electoral College votes.
To those who wreaked havoc in our Capitol today, you did not win. Violence never wins. Freedom wins. And this is still the peoples house, Pence said.
As we reconvene in this chamber, the world will again witness the resilience and strength of our democracy, for even in the wake of unprecedented violence and vandalism at this Capitol, the elected representatives of the people of the United States have assembled again on the very same day to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, Pence continued.
BECAUSE PENCE HELPED GET THE NATIONAL GUARD TO THE CAPITOL after tRump did NOTHING
https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/06/politics/pence-national-guard/index.html
Trump, who has proven over the past year to be eager to deploy the National Guard when violence breaks out, initially resisted doing so on Capitol Hill Wednesday as a mob of his supporters breached the building, per a source familiar. Pence played a key role in coordinating with the Pentagon about deploying them, and urged them to move faster than they were.
I am NOT saying PENCE is perfect, far from it. But he did NOT throw the electoral votes out. He came back into that room and did what needed to be done in his role as VP and did NOT play tRump's game.
