Rep. Beutler, WA-Rep. expands on statement about what McCarthy told her about Trump.

As she describes it, Trump originally dismissed the rioters to McCarthy as being antifa. If he DID think they were antifa, then why the hell didn't he immediately order the National Guard to restore order? No matter who he thought the rioters were, why didn't he immediately move to protect the Capitol?

1. How come she's got more courage than the sum total of all the other Republicans?

I’d never even heard of her before the impeachment hearing.

I'm happily not in her district, but I can see parts of it from my living room window.

Thinking of Shirley Chisholm with that answer, the first black woman to run for president in 1972. That was her slogan, which demonstrated her fine character, and it seems to fit Rep Herrera-Beutler too. Like them, I'm female and part of an ethnic minority, and I find white male privilege to be offensive and distasteful, and a serious character flaw that is common in her party. She's the exception.

If it was antifa they wouldn't respond to any order he gave them to stand down.

7. Too easy really. If antifa was an organized group they wouldn't have been upset about the election.

but a point of view, unlike Proud Boys or Oath keepers. He uses it as a general reference the way BLM is used by FOX News to indicate almost any black rights group or activity.

The point really is that he knew who was in town, organized, on the street, and had been told to go to congress by him. He arranged all that to be in place and activated as he had done at rallies before. He knew who was breaking the windows and beating on the doors because he put them there, and because his Secret Service detail would have known in detail, and minute by minute, where Mike Pence was and what was going on at the Capitol, because that's how they operate.

AND, he was told by at least 3 GOP members on the phone what was happening, more than once. He and his staff had no way NOT to know what was happening and when.
