I‘d fire and arrest both Morris and Leyden for illegal detention and false arrest. And then put them away for three to five for their offenses. It‘s this kind of abuse that gets good cops a bullet in the face at traffic stops down the road while these power-trip assholes continue to get their jollies at others‘ expense.

all need to be fired.

This reminds me of the arrest of Bruce Springsteen last week with a blood alcohol level 1/4 of the requirements for DUI

Just had a friend have this happen to them in Atlanta. I found it hard to believe until I see this is something that's going on in other places. I assumed the clean tests would stop any dui charge.

This is blatant abuse of power. I hope some of the victims get good lawyers and sue the crap out of the cops and the city of Phoenix.

suddenly everything in the house needs to be hammered. This reminds me of bringing in drug-sniffing dogs, trained to react on command by their handlers to establish probable cause, as justification for vehicle searches during traffic stops.

An old saw I learned many years ago. It is kind of a condemnation of over specialization.

This can be a big money maker for local police and county government. Like drug property seizures, it can be abused. Most fines run into the thousands of dollars. If you're caught, then expect thousands of dollars in legal fees, license suspension (now you're paying extra for transportation), increased insurance costs, possible loss of job and something on your record that will undoubtedly hinder your future job prospects or any other activities you do that require background checks (coaching your kids baseball/soccer teams).

DUI is a serious crime. But the blood alcohol level has been reduced to the point it's easier to be charged. Hell if you're in your car with the keys (trying to sleep it off) you're charged. I thought I heard that one of the MADD founders was charged with DUI.
