Ohio has 31 active anti-government groups – the second-highest number of extremist anti-government groups in the country, according to a new report from the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The study identified more than 560 extreme antigovernment groups that were active nationwide in 2020, nearly 170 of which were militias.

Seventeen of Ohio's 31 antigovernment groups were considered militias in 2020. The Southern Poverty Law Center did not include the Ohio State Regular Militia in its list, though the FBI says that militia group is a "dues-paying subset" of the Oath Keepers.

4. I'm beginning to fantasize about re-education camps.

These people need extensive instruction in American history, the Constitution, our electoral process, government, democracy, sociology, and behavioral science. In other words, they need to learn the advantages and benefits of living in a civilized society.

In my fantasy, the camps would be pleasant places where they would be well fed, get lots of exercise, and there would be a battery of mental health professionals to provide psychological and emotional counseling and support. Call me a bleeding heart liberal.

It is the result of the last 40 or so years of brainwashing the electorate that has been and is embraced by the republican party. They have waged a war on education, knowledge, compassion and most other attributes that people with functioning brain cells consider worthy.

I know I am around some of these people and not only the knuckle dragging yahoos who are easy
but "nice" middle class white people too.

Did you know that Barack Obama in 2012 after he won re-election was going to get the UN to smuggle
in Hamas fighters into America so he could get a third term and get people's guns?

Reagan's getting rid of the fairness doctrine, "the wild wild west" of the internet, and Christian Evangelicals
has allowed millions of Americans to be bathed in complete misinformation. And that does not count
family and friends who have generational stupidity ingrained in them.

All are educated and understand how government works. They just have an anti-democratic, racist agenda. These people got there, largely, by eligible people not voting.

I don't want to waste time and resources trying to re-educate bigots. They have all the information they need.
