Three previous US presidents, Thomas Jefferson, Richard Nixon, and Bill Clinton, were served with subpoenas while in office, and President.

And dare them to do something about it.

That being said, I think he really wants to testify. And by "testify", I mean whine some more about his landslide victory. His attorneys want to do anything to prevent him from testifying, for obvious reasons.
