Former first lady Melania Trump has been "bitter and chilly" toward her husband since they left Washington DC, according to CNN.
She is disappointed by how she departed the White House, the media outlet reported.
At the time of leaving office, the former first lady was exceptionally unpopular.
She had the worst favorability ratings for any modern first lady at the time of her departure from the White House, according to polling conducted by SSRS for CNN.
Trump is upset that her reputation has been affected by former President Donald Trump's relentless campaign to denounce the election and the consequent deadly insurrection, two people familiar with her thinking told CNN.

Sounds like she shares her husband's trait of having an over inflated self image.

She looked happier sitting next to Obama at a funeral than she did next to Trump at his inauguration.

(129,730 posts)She shouldn't be surprised that she's unpopular, even aside from the influence of her monstrous husband, because she always came across as a vapid, self-centered (insert unacceptable noun here) who had no interest in doing any of the sort of public service projects First Ladies normally take on. She was only ever interested in being the rich socialite who could spend her time lounging at spas and impressing her lessers with expensively weird haute couture.

(17,460 posts)That's a great description of her and spot on. Actually, she should be happy now because she as all the spa time she wants and apparently is using it too.

Wow, is she really clueless as to how she comes off in the minds of the American public. Maybe she thought getting her "kidneys" fixed would help, but she did absolutely nothing as a First Lady. That jacket did it for me. She's as hate filled as he is and they totally deserve one another.

(11,390 posts)Pre-White House, she had a line of cosmetics and jewelry, and, according to her ex-bestie's book, she hoped to use her position as First Lady to promote them. Somehow, someone managed to convince her that that wasn't a good look and the idea was dropped. But I bet she was looking to cash in on her position once Donnie's term was over - and now the name is trashed. Poor Mel :nopit- she'll have to rely on what's left in the pre-nup (and whatever she's managed to skim for herself) once the legal bills start coming in

(38,061 posts)You had no charm, the only thing that got you to go through the motions of the First Lady role was the prospect of Ivanka usurping it, you put minimal effort into the FL projects that were pretty obligatory, didn't go past them, and have a ghastly sense of aesthetics.
And you replaced the world-class Rose Garden with something best described as "generic suburban office park landscaping." Did Rudy help you with that?
