I understand the frustration, but we knew from the beginning this would happen. The Dems played it well - this makes it more public, historical, and it damns the GOP.

10. Au contraire. We always knew what the outcome would be; but now

it's all on the record forever. In effect the GOP Senate was on trial, and the verdict of history will be that they lost. Trump is still not the president, he's still banned from Twitter, and even though he won't be barred from running for office in the future, he will be in such deep legal shit from now on (definitely civil suits and possibly criminal prosecution), that his chances of actually doing so will diminish pretty fast.

Republicans have gone so far down the rabbit hole that they no longer realize there was an entry point at all. This impeachment trial was for the historical record.
