This is Different

Trumpism is not like the tea party or Bush Republicans.

The proof? None of those groups ever invaded the Capitol and tried to actively harm the VP and Speaker of the House and other people in Congress.

Economic disparity is as significant as its been since the 1930s.
Racial extremism is greater than its been since the 50s.

This is different. I genuinely worry about this country. On our current trajectory, barring significant changes, the nation is headed for collapse into insurgency and open conflict. There is zero doubt in my mind.

We ignore the rise of fascism and totalitarianism at our own peril.

As time goes by I lose more and more confidence in our ability to turn the tide.

Its not that they are a majority but the apathy of most in the nation is the greatest risk factor. It does more to enable the fascism than anything else.

The GOP has been courting the right wing nut jobs for decades. Now they've lost control of their party. McConnell basically gave them the keys this morning.

Senate Republicans will have irretrievably crossed the Rubicon and will only maintain power by doubling down, massive election fraud, and open calls for violence and intimidation. Successful coups are preceded by unsuccessful ones. The FBI does outstanding work with the little fish but seems incapable of more meaningful action. Securing voting rights and major RICO indictments are critical in the 12 months.

I'll speak out as much as my little voice will carry but I'm also not naive and I'm preparing food and water and other items to last me a couple months if needed.
