A massive winter storm system hit Texas and Oklahoma this weekend, leading to serious traffic accidents and power outages. In response, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) begged President Joe Biden's administration for help for his state.

This prompted questions from those who wondered why Texas officials turned to the federal government and the existing president when they were attacking him in weeks previously.

The Texas secession bill was announced in January and the Texas Republican Party endorsed the secession bill.

It will be in the high 40s here by Thursday and then 60 on Sunday. I believe the problem Texas is having will be gone before any help, whatever it is Cruz imagines, could get here. I suspect Cruz just wants to be able to say that the Biden administration refused to help a red state, even when there’s very little that can be done. Austin could use some snow plows just now, but then they wouldn’t be used again for two or three decades. And the temperature will be above freezing by Wednesday, so most of it will soon melt. North Texas may have different issues, but they regularly get some snow and ice in winter so they should be better prepared.
