More than a dozen Colorado firefighters on COVID leave following wedding in Mexico

NEW: More than a dozen firefighters in the South Adams County Fire Dept. were recently put on COVID leave. Wedding in Mexico may be source. Overtime to be spent covering shifts. Chief says stations are in full operation. #9NEWS

The department has 68 firefighters on staff. Today, 10 are still out because of COVID exposure. 16 total were on leave after wedding earlier this month. Chief says he can’t tell firefighters what to do in off time, but calls situation “frustrating.” #9NEWS

The South Adams County Fire Department confirmed up to 16 firefighters were recently put on notice they had to follow COVID-19 isolation regulations.
