A new profile on Congressman Adam Kinzinger, one of the few House Republicans who voted to impeach Donald Trump, reveals that several family members actually sent him a handwritten letter criticizing his condemnation of the former president’s actions that led to the riots at the Capitol.

The letter reads in part, “Oh my, what a disappointment you are to us and to God!… You have embarrassed the Kinzinger family name!”

The Times says this letter — which accuses him of joining the “devil’s army” — came from 11 members of his family.

At one point the letter says, “You should be very proud that you have lost the respect of Lou Dobbs, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Greg Kelly, etc., and most importantly in our book, Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh and us!”

it has to hurt getting a letter like this from 11 members of your family. I’m not saying he doesn’t know they’re nuts...but it can’t feel good. That said...if anyone has a moment or two in their busy lives to send Adam Kinzinger an email, a post card or a letter thanking him for his patriotism, it would be a good thing. We need to encourage good behavior and critical thinking.

It hurts to have family members that are that far off the deep end and know there's not much you can do until something wakes them the hell up

I hope people are telling him he's very fortunate in his enemies. They're despicable.

His father apparently does something else, but I have seen him on tv describing both his parents as teachers. He appeared quite a few times on the State-Line Quiz Bowl, the kids' academic bowl that is televised out of Rockford. He was a judge or a sponsor. He stated that his parents were teachers.

My sister called me a baby killer in a letter after she found out I voted for John Kerry - the Catholic guy. My sister is Catholic too.

I thought the family had punched themselves out years ago. But nope. I got a "I can only assume you are still a Godless liberal and we are all hoping you burn in hell because of it" letter from my cousin's wife a few months ago.

I'm not sure about Lou Dobbs hating me, but I have been assured that Bill O'Donohue of the Catholic League (whom I have never met) has guaranteed my mother I will never make it into heaven. So I've got that going for me.
