Wow! Just found out someone I know was recently arrested as one of the Capitol rioters!

I'm in shock right now. We haven't seen him in about six years, but he spent the better part of his time at my house for around two years. He reached out to my daughter a while back trying to reconnect with her, and sending her some pretty extreme religious stuff.
She let him know she was not interested, and he stopped trying.

He used to be a vegan, liberal, hippie kinda guy!
I just can't get over it.

It was amiable at the time, but only because my daughter handled everything with grace.

One of his family members turned him in. He has a very supportive family. I'm sure they will try and help him through it.

Based the things some of my high school classmates post on our class page, there are a few of them that may have been there, or would at least have even supporting what happened.

Neighbor was arrested for being at the insurrection.

Funny how the degrees of seperation thing works.

My freind is a very liberal progressive too...

Never know how nutty a person is until they get arrested for insurection . Kinda like the neighborhood serial killer no one knew was there that everyone thought was a quiet normal good neighbor
Until the bodies in the basement began to stink....

I knew a very left wing, vegan guy once. He actually chose either Bush Sr., or Perot over Clinton. He was a religious type and supposedly hated Clinton’s infidelities.

Maybe I watch too much tv but a person willing to participate in this insurrection does not deserve your concern. If you left on not good terms, he may retaliate against you or your family. Who knows what has transpired over the years so be safe.

I would not reach out to him anyway, but I doubt he would be violent. I think he’s just someone prone to extremes in his belief system, and it seems he just wanted to be part of a movement, and maybe get everybody high??

I'd worry about attracting attention from the feds by virtue of the fact that you contacted him... it might lead them to believe you're of a like mind, know what I mean?

I knew him through virtue of my daughter. He was a different person then, even though he did an assholey thing to her back then.
I do know he has a very sweet, caring, and intelligent mother, so if anything can be done to help him, she would know much better than I.
