Then it is only classified as „collateral damage.“

I live in San Antonio, not some cow town... I checked the decent motels/hotels such as Holiday Inn Express. I did not even check Super 8, Motel 6 or scum of the earth like Ramada and Knights Inn:

Right before Thanksgiving in 1987 we moved to Colorado. Golden, to be precise. On Thanksgiving Day a snow storm cut our power, and my husband immediately called a local hotel and made reservations. Don't know what the room rate was precisely, but it would have been whatever the market rate for that hotel was at the time.

Fortunately, we got our power back in an hour or so and Thanksgiving proceeding without any further hitches.

If I had to, I could afford the price you've posted. By I know a lot of people could not begin to do so.

The most expensive place near me for tomorrow night is $80. These are all decent: Hilton, Holiday Inn Express...I have not even included Motel 6 or Super 8. The Riverwalk is always expensive, but someone getting a room due to lack of electricity won't stay at the Riverwalk...

I hate these stupid rumors, because it just makes everyone think Texas will turn blue because of some weird thing:

I hate these stupid rumors! It makes Democrats complacent...."Texas will turn due to price gouging".....

San Antonio, inside 410...A bit more expensive along 1604, but the most expensive place is $100

This is why we get all these rumors about "Texas turning blue", such as "Nobody can afford it".

But there is not a single overly expensive suburban motel near me for the night of Feb 16-17. These are all decent accommodations. They aren't on the Riverwalk, but I would stay at any of these locations!

I get tired of rumors!

She told me she was going out to her car every couple hours to warm up & charge her phone. Her son works at a hospital & he told her to come there but she was too worried about being around the virus.

Cold & hungry sucks.

Everyone is told to stay home. Grocery stores closed at 6 PM today.

Fast food might be open, but that's about it today. Tomorrow should be better if roads improve. Right now the roads are covered with ice and are dangerous.
