Remember this Texas? Do you recall this? Don't worry. President Biden will do the right thing for your state. Because that's what Presidents do. Use their power to help people no matter who they voted for unlike that petty, vengeful asshat thing your state voted for.

(35,437 posts)Ted Cruz and Texas' governor would be complaining about government doing too much.
This is exactly the right time to bring up this hypocrisy. Don't ask for help when you never want to help anyone else when they're in trouble.

(15,936 posts)As someone who is experiencing the blackout and freezing with my mate, and 6 kitties, and all the other people here in my neighborhood, you should reconsider your hatred for our state.
Oh I can now see my breath because that's how fricking cold it is inside my house.
The FBI will investigate those Yahoo's and hold them accountable.

(50,949 posts)He is making the point that, when other states face crippling disasters, Texas elected officials are famous for saying, "Tough shit, don't ask US for help."
Whereas no one is going to say that about Texans facing this disaster.

(145,150 posts)It is tough living in Texas at times. The GOP has set up ERCOT which is a separate Texas only power grid that is not well planned. The Texas GOP was proud of Texas being independent of the rest of the United States and now we are paying for this arrogance

(25,851 posts)Fuck everyone in Texas, and understanding that not all Texans are Trumpers, and in any case the suffering from the cold is real.
But honestly, everyone who rejected "socialism" and government help really does need to suffer.
People need to understand exactly what they are voting for.

I'm not hearing much about friends and neighbors in Texas coming together. I'm in a semi-rural area and know if the same thing happened here folks would be out helping others and sharing what ever they have
A few days ago I posted a PBS video about the great blizzard of 49 up in the 4 corner area. They were frozen in for months. But one thing stood out. Everyone helped others, neighbors and strangers. They all shared their homes and supplies. I hope we start hearing stories about that soon in Texas.
