Day two without power in North Austin

No power. Zip.

Nothing since 2am yesterday.

45 degrees in the house. Freezer items out in the snow. refrigerator items out in the garage.

We have a wind up radio and a number flash lights

It’s 9 degrees right now.

We’ve limited our fire wood use to only the evening

Still nothing from city as to when we will get any power back.

I would be delighted with 2 hours of power.

I’m surprised I can get on DU. I had no connection at all yesterday.

Cheers. Keeping the faith and hoping for the best

Hang in there. I wish I could email you some micro power packets to keep a source of heat running.

May your soul remain warm, like a hot cup of java, Javaman.

Most people don't know you can use your front yard/back yard as your freezer in this kind of weather

He messaged earlier that they were still out of power.

Take care Javaman.

She lives on the south side and still has power, luckily.

They are preparing in case they lose theirs, too.

Fingers crossed!

need electricity to work? Or if one has gas, they will at least have heat. Hoping he has heat.

Unless he has an old gravity furnace, heat will require a fan to move the air around.

unless he has one of the very old gravity furnaces or a gas room heater (even older). He may have an oven / stove and a fireplace if gas powered.
