and his neglect and in fact, encouragement of an insurrection against "The Peoples' House" causing "Our House" to be vandalized, desecrated, and dishonored. Trumps' inciting of the insurrection and neglect to prevent it and doing nothing to end it, caused psychological pain and suffering to OUR Representatives, Senators, their staffs, and all support personal in the "Peoples' House" and the death and injury of US Capitol personnel. His actions or lack of action also caused fear and anguish to the citizens of the United States. As a result of Trumps' actions AND inactions, the events of January have so far cost the United States Tax Payers $519 million.

President Donald Trumps onslaught of falsehoods about the November election misled millions of Americans, undermined faith in the electoral system, sparked a deadly riot and has now left taxpayers with a large, and growing, bill.
The total so far: $519 million.
The costs have mounted daily as government agencies at all levels have been forced to devote public funds to respond to actions taken by Trump and his supporters, according to a Washington Post review of local, state and federal spending records, as well as interviews with government officials. The expenditures include legal fees prompted by dozens of fruitless lawsuits, enhanced security in response to death threats against poll workers, and costly repairs needed after the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol. That attack triggered the expensive massing of thousands of National Guard troops on the streets of Washington amid fears of additional extremist violence.
Although more than $480 million of the total is attributable to the militarys estimated expenses for the troop deployment through mid-March, the financial impact of the presidents refusal to concede the election is probably much higher than what has been documented thus far, and the true costs may never be known.

(22,112 posts)they deserve just as much of the blame too. Sue their a&&es in court. I don't know if one can do this, but surely someone can...
Law suits are all about damages and who was harmed. In this case everyone was harmed by this menace. We should be able to sue him into oblivion.

(9,534 posts)Capitol police officers? That alone should cost him a bundle. They should also sue leaders of the militia groups that stormed the capitol and hold them responsible, too.
Citizens should be able to sue Trump and the stormers to recover costs of damages to the Capitol, added security, the new fence, and any costs involved in deploying the National Guard, at the very least.
Some of the legislators' staffers might be able to claim emotional distress, PTSD, etc, ditto any officers or other government workers in the Capitol that day who were traumatized by what happened.
