It feels weird not to have Mardi Gras this year, but there's not much that can be done about it. I guess we can walk up and down the streets and talk to each other while we do social distancing. We don't have to have floats, but we do need to get together with friends.

I miss NO terribly most of the time and especially now, not the chaos but those fabulous side street celebrations and knowing people on the routes so we could porch it. But I’m listening to WWOZ and planning and plotting.

...that in a civic spirit, some wealthy folks are having the float builders (who make most of their yearly income from building the parade floats) decorate their homes like a float.
They organized enough to develop a route, so people can "drive" the parade in the safety of their own car.
Thought that was pretty cool.
Heard it on Sirius/XM Volume channel this morning.
