Sen. Sanders: Congress must move forward vigorously and help the American people

Feb 16, 2021

Let's be clear. The rich are doing just fine. Billionaires are seeing tremendous growth in their wealth. But working families are living in more desperation than at any time since the Great Depression. Congress has got to move forward vigorously, and help the American people.

he is correct on this.

The rich are doing fine, better than even before the pandemic. Even if they start to have to "gasp!" pay more taxes, they will STILL be doing far better than 99% of the country, making far more than they can reasonably spend.

We need our economy to get back on track, the solution is to get money into the hands of those who will spend it, exchanging currency for goods and services is the primary driver of our economy, not the stock market, not rich people benevolently "giving" out jobs. Those jobs are there because people want or need goods and services.

WE are the job creators. Not some rich guy who owns the company. If there were no customers, there would be no need for jobs.
