Brianna Keilar joins 'New Day,' three anchors move to afternoons in CNN schedule revamp

New York (CNN Business) CNN is making a series of programming changes in April, starting with a move to the mornings by Brianna Keilar.

The new schedule was announced on Wednesday morning.

Keilar, who currently anchors from 1 to 3 p.m. Eastern, will join John Berman on the network's flagship morning show, "New Day."

Weekend anchor Ana Cabrera will take over the 1 p.m. hour on weekdays. And two morning hosts will move to weekday afternoons:

Berman's current co-anchor Alisyn Camerota and "New Day Weekend" co-anchor Victor Blackwell will pair up from 2 to 4 p.m.

1. As I posted elsewhere, I really like Brianna's current show.

Brianna has one of the best shows in news in her current timeslot

She has time to get deep into stories. She did an interview with Col. Vindman’s wife that was allotted what seemed like an entire half hour. Full interview patiently discussing several issues in total.

I get the sense that Brianna has a lot to do in production. I hope she is able to continue that but morning shows tend to naive at a much faster speed. Short quick news hits all over the map.

I really enjoy her current show.

8. She's the best on both CNN and MSNBC. That 1-3 time slot was perfect. You're right, I think....

....she does a lot of the prep work for her show, and almost daily has a 10-minute or so "expose" which have been great.

Unfortunately that early morning time is more "Today"-like, lots of fluff and less substance.

7. Unfortunately I don't start watching anything until almost 9:00, so I'll miss that morning show...

I probably won't watch much of their afternoon coverage - Kielar is the one that I look forward to every day.

I'll have to see how this works out. Maybe I'll be doing more away from my computer/television? At least the warmer weather is only 2 months away.

9. You can also DVR, though three hours is a long time to scroll through.

I know I'll enjoy it because Joe and Mika aren't doing it for me.
