(1,365 posts)There are six things which the LORD hates, seven which are an abomination to him:
A haughty look (vanity, pride)
A lying tongue
Hands that shed innocent blood
A heart that devises wicked plans
Feet that make haste to run to evil
A false witness who breathes out lies
A man who sows discord among brothers
"A sower of lies and discord" sums up his life's work.

(42,862 posts)His listeners needed to be riled-up about whatever was in the news... they needed an outrage of the day. The "classic" episodes about Barack Obama's birth certificate and Michael J. Fox "faking it" don't deliver... they don't have the punch any more. Nobody cares.
I'd be willing to wager a dollar or two that the radio stations (and advertisers) who had contracts with the show are probably RELIEVED that he's gone.
They no longer have a liability of being associated with his hatred and bigotry... or having to broadcast it.

With all humility I'm sorry to say that Rush Limbaugh launched his horrid career in hate radio here in my hometown of Pittsburgh, almost 40 years ago. He was offered a hosting job when Richard Mellon Scaife purchased local station KQV and changed the format to talk/news/call-in that Limbaugh is known for today. He pretty much pioneered the RWNJ/hate-radio format that became so popular. He never got rich in Pittsburgh though, the show was syndicated with national sponsors and that's when he became a multi-millionaire.
Sorry America - Pittsburgh apologizes for Rush Limbaugh!
