Remember December 2010 when Governor Chris Christie fucked off to Disneyland with his kids while New Jersey was frozen in a giant glacier? Or that time he shut down the beaches on 4th of July weekend in 2017, and then took his family to their new PRIVATE beach, literally saying "That's the way it goes. Run for Governor, and you get the residence."
Well, despite being a contemptible insect, I'll give Christie some credit. AT LEAST HE'S NOT GREG ABBOTT or TEDDY CANCUN.
Texas is trapped in a blizzard, and people are literally freezing in their homes because decades of Republican mismanagement of the power grid has left them with no heat. Does Abbott pull a Christie, and say "SUCK ON IT, plebs! If you don't have a $10,000 generator attached to your house the way the rest of us millionaires do, it's your own fault."
No, he didn't have the nerve to do that. Instead he goes on Faux Noise, and blames the freezing weather on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Smooth move, turd.
And CRUZ doesn't even bother with THAT. He just says "Fuck this, y'all. I'm OUTTA this shit hole!" and pisses off to Cancun in a Hawaiian shirt and flip flops.
Then, when caught like a fat rat in a manhole cover, he deflects, by hitting all the standard GOP talking points without missing a beat!

And there are literal montages of his bullying anyone who challenged him. And that included during disasters such as that from Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and stuff that was still not finished with repairs years later -

(ETA - and how do I know this? Living in Philly, WE are the media market for all of South Jersey and that includes Trenton so we had to suffer through hearing about him and his misdeeds the 8 years he was in office
