I lived in Texas for 4 years, I have lived in 8 states and have traveled through 49 (I am missing Alaska), and I have never seen more overt State pride than in TX.

Between the pandemic and climate change, this is the moment to crush all these neo-liberal assholes.

(5,126 posts)There will be no 'unity'. There will be no 'bipartisanship'. The rethugs only want domination and riches, preferably those that they can seize without being held to account for them. There is only one way to handle this. As soon as the Dems stop playing nice and stop thinking they are better for not indulging in the same tactics that created 47 million trumpers, things around here just might change.

(43,146 posts)I read that somewhere, one of the institutions in the state is the locus of free market ideology. Probably stems from the oil industry and its anti-environmental regulation goals. U of Chicago, another conservative institution, if you can believe it, has nothing on them!
