Dinesh D'Souza was excusing Cruz yesterday or the day before, claiming that there was really nothing Cruz could be doing about the situation in Texas, so it was no big deal for him to fly off to Mexico to get away from oppressive conditions at home and seek a better life for him and his family. Because raising money for other people or making phone calls is just too much to expect from a Republican Senator.

I don't know if you saw the Chris Hayes All In show last night, but Hayes talked about how these Republicans, since Congress got rid of 'earmarks,' have just become a sort of conservative peanut gallery, and don't really see representing their constituents as being part of their job description.

Hayes talked about how Biden and Democrats in Congress are talking about bringing back 'earmarks.' As with anything, there is abuse, but having earmarks is better policy than not having them.
