Ted Cruz may have finally gone too far

Not only did he abandon his constituents to fend for themselves, he left his dog in a freezing house.

Its one thing to ignore your voters, but anyone who mistreats animal's is definitely on most people's shit list.

which was posted here yesterday. A reporter came to the door and asked a) if this was Cruz' house and b) if this person was taking care of the dog, and received affirmative answers to both.

I hate Ted Cruz as much as the next guy, but I don't believe he'd let his own pet starve or freeze, just his constituents.

reportedly secured his dog in a kennel and drove down the highway with the kennel on top of the station wagon? And he’s “our” “darling” now, which is why he’ll get jettisoned next cycle, nothing to do with the dog, mind you, he displayed some human decency, and now they’re outraged.

Ted Cruz will be re-elected in 4 years, and it won’t even be close. Of course, we’ll start believing in Santa Claus again for a few months before the election.

And so nothing will change.

This is different. People know about it at the time it happened, and it's accompanied by other egregious behavior. And there are photos of the sad doggie.

It's not the same situation.

This is a different situation, but the results will be the same.

I’ll happily eat crow if I have to, but if anyone here thinks Cruz is going to suffer any repercussions about this, then that person doesn’t know much about Texas or republicans.

I’ll say it now. There will be no resignation. This guy learned from trump that when you’re cornered, you double down, because politicians get away with anything, and then they lie about it, and get away with that too.

Every election gets closer. It's not fantasy to say Cruz could be unseated in 2024. Texas isn't a deep red state like Wyoming.

Again, I’d love to eat crow in this situation, but I’m going to stand by my statement. I personally think you’ve got another 20 years to go before you can claim Texas isn’t a Republican mainstay/stronghold.

Cruz regrets one thing, and one thing only about this, that he got caught out. There’s no shame, no remorse, no humility, just anger that he’s been personally pigeonholed for this particular junket. Why aren’t republicans calling for his resignation? Because they all feel the same way as he does.

Dems would have a chance sooner, but we refuse to play hardball like they do, so IMHO 20 years and you might see a Democratic senator from TX. Who knows, there might be enough non Mormons in UT by that time to do something there too.

I had the TV on Fox because they’re the only ones who do local coverage after 7:00 am. They did a story about Cruz and the local guy was already making a snarky face to the camera and then it was time to have a quick chat with Wallace about what was coming up on his Sunday morning show. Wallace said something like “I’ve seen a lot of things in my time but I’ve never seen a politician blame his 10 and 12 year old daughters for his own bad decision.” They were flat out laughing at Ted.

Or the Easter Bunny. Too long to wait for Christmas, so go with that.

I’d love it, I don’t mean to belittle you, but there is no such thing as “too far” if you’re a Republican.

The truth is that republicans only love their dogs, that’s how selfish they are, if you can imagine that. Sucks to be Teds dog, but it ain’t their dog.
