Remember the 2004 movie, The Day After Tomorrow?

It perfectly predicted what we're going through right now. At the time I believed it was prescient, because the science presented made so much sense. My only hope was if we humans could get a clue, which we didn't

and surviving. People, in the movie, were fleeing to south of Kansas. But of course, Texas is no longer safe.

Americans who could were eventually fleeing to Mexico, and Mexico welcomed them. Just a bit of irony there.

In the film, Mexico forces the U.S. to forgive all of its debt before they'll open their borders to Americans. It was a nice twist!

With the border wall and treatment of Mexico and Mexicans. It was a nice touch and made the point that we need to treat people in other countries the way we want to be treated. It came at the end, as a sort of way of saying 'this is how we need to move forward as a country'.

I seem to remember, in The Day After Tomorrow, that we basically had to beg Mexico to let us in. Mexico said "yes". Maybe I'm thinking of that Supervolcano (Yellowstone) mini-series that was on Discovery. That one, BTW, is one of the best I've seen.

On a macro level I believe the science was pretty good. On a micro level it's pure Hollywood. ...and that's fine by me.

Now I watch whenever it's on. Great special effects. Compelling story because it's too close to truth.
