"SNIP......
Mirroring the effort to drive donations to Planned Parenthood on Mike Pences birthday a few years ago, scores of people not-quite-mourning Rush Limbaughs death are rallying to mobilize similarly and donate in his name. Its what Rush would have wanted, reads an Instagram pitch.
The goal of donating $10,000 to reproductive health care has been far exceeded. More than $425,000 and counting has already been raised by 17,000 donors in Limbaughs memory. Read more about his legacy here.

(1,639 posts)The best way to sublimate the anger and frustration generated by dealing with wrong-minded people. It's evil-ish, (in its trolling intent) but it doesn't undermine one's own integrity.
Though, I would like to suggest that a more exquisitely fiendish way of observing Pence's birthday would be with contributions to The Trevor Project, or any other organization that supports Gay people and their fundamental human right to just Be.
Both are worthy organizations and causes, of course.

(118,642 posts)renowned anti-feminist died is evil. It is symbolic. If you are a controversal person expect to have a legacy that matches it.

(1,639 posts)I don't actually believe that giving to a feminist cause is evil in any way. I was attempting to be light-hearted, though Goddess forbid that I should do such a thing.
Now, to drill down a bit, I don't exactly think that it is nice to give a donation to a charity in the name of someone who would clearly oppose that charity. I would not like it one bit if my brother gave money to the RNC in my name after I am gone. That doesn't mean that I am censuring the actions of the people who donated to Planned Parenthood in Limbaugh's name, far from it.
I am simply pointing out that the judgments of such actions are a matter of perspective. (At least that's what I am doing now. In my earlier post I was just making a goofy observation.)
But, hey, if a contrarian perspective is the one that you wish to embrace 24/7, by all means, enjoy yourself.
