I know everything is huge in Texas, but a $10,000.00 electricity bill?

Damn! That is called Texas gouging to the highest level! Very suspicious, and needs to be stopped and investigated to the fullest!

The only remedy would add a max percentage on the variable rate like jimfields33 Feb 2021 #4
So you are saying it's okay to gouge customers? Kingofalldems Feb 2021 #3
Same principle and effect with a variable rate mortgage. keithbvadu2 Feb 2021 #5

Some picked variable because at the time they saved money, but then the price skyrocketed. The customers picking the fixed rate got the same bill. I’d never chose a variable rate ever! It’s too risky as these customers found out.

no more then 10 percent increase in a single year or something. The company will have to do something because customers are not going to pay the bills. They can’t.
