We’ve been out since Sunday here in Oregon and the utility company says it’ll be another 5 days.

I live in Portland. Very accessible street with no lines down. Power restored up the street a half mile and down the street a half mile.

9 more days, so I guess it could be worse?

I have a chest freezer full of food that will need to be trashed along with two refrigerator’s freezers. Our kitchen refrigerator was emptied days ago. It sucks for sure. Not cold enough out to just plop stuff out there.

between optimism and very much so *not* optimism.

Currently sitting on optimism. We have a neighborhood group on the dreaded FB, and so we know where the crews are each day and who has just gotten power. It’s coming towards me this evening although it may be tomorrow before I get it. Better than 5 days. There’s just not much neighborhood left and it sucks to be the last part of the neighborhood to get power but someone has to be.

I’ve spent time working on an extensive grocery list. Usually I do curbside but I’ll have to double mask and go in to a couple of stores.

I did get pissy with the utility on Twitter this evening, telling them their new map tool is crap (and it is!)

the comradery of your neighbors, ... That does make it a little more fun anyway. I have lots of books I want to pick up. I guess this would encourage me spending my time doing that.
