friend who had just been there told me. No trucks, no goods from TX, etc. crops gone, including citrus. As our sisters and brothers dig out from this week of horror, the impacts will be felt everywhere.
Please be safe everyone, and remember your shock pills when you go to the grocery stores, get gas, get your utility bills.

(15,804 posts)I guess Ill stock up on some frozen veg. My chest freezer will be empty anyway. We generally have bananas and honey crisp apples for fresh fruit and those arent reliant on Texas at least.
Sadly all of my kale/mustard/lettuce starts are toast. Or at least I dont expect that theyve survived. I can restart them again though and have micro greens in just a few weeks.
Naturally we don't have a Trader Joe's, but I did go to King Soopers yesterday to get fruit and there seemed to be plenty, for now. I'm sure we'll be feeling the impact soon.
