That person who leaked the info could lose his or her job? That person is a courageous human being, doing their civil duties! I would think that United needs to take of all their customers and not suck up to a one prick customer?
Story from MSN.

(26,727 posts)A company cant have a customer privacy policy that says unless the customer is a jerk.
Theres no problem with the company releasing evidence of a crime in response to a subpoena or I some cases even a law enforcement request... but an individual employee deciding to leak?
One might argue that sacrificing your job is worth some actions... but it is still knowingly sacrificing your job.

(13,772 posts)I get it that what that individual did was walking a fine line, but Ted Cruz would leak info about any democrat and never pay the consequences by say he was working the public's interest.

(26,727 posts)It isn't "walking a fine line". Companies absolutely can and should have privacy policies for customer information and individual employees are not empowered to violate them based on their own standards (regardless of whether you agree with the standard or not). The actions almost certainly open the company up for a lawsuit.
That's the kind of thing that gets you fired. They had to know that when they decided to leak the information.
I seriously doubt that Franken would disagree.

(26,727 posts)When he left and when he returned are indeed public information that could be discussed by private citizens who saw him (though likely still not an airline employee).
What was released was information on when he was originally scheduled to return - because it contradicts (or at least appears to) his story.

(25,841 posts)As has already been pointed out, he was in a public airport. Not to mention, he apparently called Houston police for an escort through the airport, so someone there could well have been the leaker. Then again, perhaps not.
Is United going to clamp down on all the passengers who posted pictures and videos of him and his family?

(2,636 posts)I don't think a United employee leaked anything.
He took his fam on a commercial flight, in a public airport. People took pictures. He asked the HPD to escort him in super stealth mode, I guess.
His wife's group text was leaked, by one of their friends. I love that part.
He threw his 9 and 12 year old under the bus. It wasn't their idea to go to Cancun. It was his and Heidi's.
He owns every bit of this behavior. He's a narcissist and a sociopath. He high tailed it to Mexico to escape responsibility for the problems he's helped create. Never mind he instigated an insurrection.

(7,853 posts)If people started cancelling their flights for this reason the airline might decide differently
