I really like this Beto guy.

There's something vaguely Lincolnian about him; more or less coming out of nowhere with intelligence and dignity and decency. He is also willing to take what must be an unpopular stand in Texas on climate change much as Lincoln took on an unpopular stand (in his time) on human slavery.

He wasn't my guy in the primaries.

I hope we'll see more of him in the future.

Beto ran and sold his business. And like many people, his spouse is wealthy so he doesn't have to work an 8 to 5 job.

Beto is teaching college courses at Texas State and the University of Texas. He is also engaged in public service. Wondering about what Beto is doing to make a living is nitpicking, but you've been opposed to Beto from the beginning of the primaries.

We get it--you don't like Beto. However, Beto is a Democrat and he is supported by millions of people in Texas and this site supports Democrats.

I was very impressed, in this interview, how he dismissed discussion of his political plans as "this not being the time..." while rattling off policy positions on Ercot.

Doing a lot for Texas, but he was a Congressman. Right now he is saving Texan lives. Finding them heat, food and shelter.

If not in the Administration, run against Cornyn but he needs nation wide exposure like Mayor Pete.

He is young. Hoping to see him in future campaigns.

...integrity or decency, a traitor to his country, and a supporter of fascist thugs working to destroy our government.

My deep and abiding respect for President Biden is independent of anything that Lindsay Graham has to say.

The fact that he historically admired Joe Biden and now has sought excuse the attempted murder of Joe Biden's supporters is a reflection of his duplicity, bigotry, dishonesty and lack of principles.

I'm hoping that Beto does run for governor in 2022 and he can fix some of the things that are messed up in Texas. That may be difficult with a Republican legislature, but at least he will be able to veto some of the stupid bills sent for his signature.

I never had anyone from a political campaign stop and knock on my door until 2018 when Beto ran for the Senate. I had a nice conversation with the elderly woman who came by asking for me to vote for Beto.

I'm running a little bit behind on my schedule to get through the state groups, including New Jersey. However, with most of the legislatures in session there are plenty of news stories that go along with it. The fights over abortion rights and the minimum wage seem prevalent throughout the individual states this year. I guess that this summer and fall I will be posting about redistricting instead.

Battery or Hand crank/Solar charged AM/FM radios are still a good way to communicate to the masses in emergencies like this. AM stations outside the effected area, or with reliable backup power, can inform the masses without much additional effort.
