I've been busy with other stuff and haven't perused DU as much. What is March 4th supposed to be?

I've seen it mentioned several times, but no explanation of what is planned for that day. I'm assuming it has something to do with January 6th...a continuation of that horrible day. Am I wrong?

I heard a comment on one of the news programs that there are several dates being mentioned by the supremacists as days to watch out for. Anyone know what these are or are they playing around with our minds?

Mussolini. This explains it:

QAnon followers still think Trump will be inaugurated — on March 4. National Guard will be ready

House Armed Services Chairman Adam Smith, D-Wash., cited QAnon chatter surrounding March 4 during a hearing this week with defense officials flagged by CNN.

"Some of these people have figured out that apparently 75 years ago, the president used to be inaugurated on March 4," Smith said. "Now why that's relevant, God knows. At any rate, now they are thinking maybe we should gather again and storm the Capitol on March 4 ... that is circulating online."

I guess my interpretation was that they were easily led people who couldn't find anyone to latch onto to salve their souls. Isn't Q a person that is still unidentified? Some strange character that hides on an island and commands loyalty?

Their minds must be constantly going over the edge. How anyone could come up with those horrid descriptions of Hillary cannot be anywhere close to sane. Is this the result of closing all those mental hospitals during the Reagan Regime?

Gee, I was simply curious about March 4th. Now, we have a generation to protect because people of their ilk are plotting our future? How did all this come about?

Thanks (I think) for the info.

How long have they been this active? Am I right that these groups started expanding while Obama was POTUS? I know the white supremacists grew in leaps and bounds, but in my innocence of these types, I thought their main objective was to cuss at each other about their plight and play soldier on weekends.

But these people are much worse, as their minds are coming up with off-the-wall conspiracies that only those with serious problems could invent.

A woman I have known for 20 years or more (online) used to have a good sense of humor, was intelligent and creative. Somewhere along the line, she changed into a strange creature who I suspect is following the conspiracies of the Republican fringe, as well as Qanon. The change has happened in the last few years...a little before Trump. I suspicion her family put her in a rehab center, but I doubt it was successful. After reading this Salon article, I can understand a bit more.

a neighbor we've always admired and know to be a wonderful person but who also turned out to be fully marinated in religion-based conspiracism, though not Q (although there's lots of overlap of true believers). Like you, it came as a shock. His wonderful wife died, and we think maybe not having her unleashed it, but it couldn't have been new then, maybe just kept more rational?

He mistook my husband for a sympathizer and added him to a private messaging group whose members didn't seem to believe God was doing well enough on his own and needed earthly armies to take over here. Lots of references we'd never heard of.

Michelle Bachmann, who was channeling her wisdom and warrior spirit to them at that time, turns out to have been inside the Capitol "praying" during the insurrection.

I used to think that supposedly "Chinese" curse wishing someone lived in interesting times felt more appealing than otherwise, but now it feels like a curse.

She is so excited that the Rapture may come in her lifetime and finds all kinds of signs. When Trump began his campaign is when I noticed a big change, although there were signs earlier. I suspect it was a combination of events that finally pushed her over the edge. Being so religious, her friends and family couldn't figure out why she was drawn to Trump, who has to be one of the most consistent sinners of the day. I guess she exercised her Christian belief of forgiveness to warrant such a move, or maybe it titillated her to hold her interest. Who knows? I just know the beat goes on.

Michelle Bachman was praying during the insurrection...inside the Capitol? I wonder if the FBI know...

effective insanity. They're told and thus believe that god may choose flawed people as servants and that Trump is a current choice. But their transformation of someone as depraved as Trump into a godly servant to adore suggests a dark and spiritually bereft process to me. I understand absolutely nothing about it, though.

I imagine Bachmann is on the FBI's list of interesting people now, if not before. Interesting to me, she's been saying some Republican reps, presumably those who won't suck up to her, have turned against Trump, "spouting the false narrative" that he didn't win. Steve Bannon was also speaking during "The Global Prayer for Election Integrity/Against Election Fraud."

Yesterday when we were talking about a once- childhood friend of his, a sweet, delightful boy we could never have guessed would someday turn RW extremist, devoutly religious and also genuinely hate-full, I told our son again that I loved and was proud of him -- and grateful for what our blind draw from the grab bag of parenthood brought us. And didn't.

As you say, the beat goes on.

so Qult members are coming up with their own bizarre crap. Cult researchers say that is one of the "hooks" -- Q would give these "clues" so members could come up with theories on their own to share with the cult. It made them feel important and valuable, something most cults don't offer. They say that the pandemic has exacerbated it because everyone is fearful and isolated with too much time on their hands.

Now there's a theory floating around that Biden is in league with Mango Mussolini and is just holding his place to lull the Never Trumpers and Democrats into a false sense of security until the Second Coming on March 4. Then everybody will be arrested, executed and MM will take his rightful place as God Emperor of America for Life. And then, after he's gone, there's Uday, Qusay, and Princess Sparkle Pony to succeed him and then their spawn.

I can't for the life of me understand how any of them think that this is even vaguely what the Founders had in mind or how they can possibly call themselves "patriots." It vile and it's evil. And it's a certified goddamned cult.

I have to push mine aside. In all my years, I haven't run across this type of behavior. Sure, we've had those so extreme that you took notice. However, these Q-people are growing in numbers and combined, they are playing a dangerous game.

I imagine that what will erupt them again will be when the Jan. 6th invaders are prosecuted. I sure wouldn't want to be on any jury for those trials, or anywhere in the neighborhood, for that matter.

QAnon followers still think Trump will be inaugurated — on March 4. National Guard will be ready

Trump’s D.C. hotel hopes to cash in on QAnon true believers who may descend on Washington for his big comeback

Nearly 5,000 National Guard troops are expected to stay in Washington for at least another three weeks amid concerns over potential violence from QAnon adherents, some of whom believe former President Donald Trump will be inaugurated on March 4.

House Armed Services Chairman Adam Smith, D-Wash., cited QAnon chatter surrounding March 4 during a hearing this week with defense officials flagged by CNN.

Some people (idiots) think that a treaty we signed with the UK in the 1870's made the US a crown-chartered corporation, and that we haven't had a real government since. Our last president was Grant.

But the uber-patriot Trump somehow broke us free from this, and on March 4th (the original inauguration day) Trump will become the rightful 19th President.

It's bizarre
