DeSantis just ended his political career by lowering flags for Limbaugh

Last edited Sat Feb 20, 2021, 04:40 PM - Edit history (2)

...DeSantis like Cruz is sure he can get away with it. This will follow him forever. You don't lower flags for a bigot and a hate monger. That becomes your legacy. If DeSantis did this as a favor to Trump, then DeSantis is a fool. I thought DeSantis was smarter than this, but he is not. He thinks he knows the
people in Florida, but a lot of them will use this as a reason to vote against him...That is not just one
time, but forever and forever. Further, this one move will be a talking point about DeSantis forever.
....Again, he is sure he can get away with it, but he can't

and thought, "Well, if HE can do it and survive, what do I have to lose?" The problem is they are NOT Trump. When Trump does it, for some reason it is viewed as bold and unconventional, but when his acolytes emulate his outrageous behavior, it is seen for what it is, a weak, unimpressive imitation.

There can only be one Trump and only he can pull off that crap without consequences. Historians will be studying the phenomenon for many years trying to figure out why, but in the meantime, fools like DeSantis do not have whatever it is that allowed Trump to repeatedly defy reasonable norms. We saw that during the republican primaries in 2016. Whenever one of Trump's opponents tried to use his tactics, it failed miserably. Trump's followers accepted and forgave his antics, but the same behavior in anyone else was a bridge too far.

I suppose these Trump wannabes are doing the world a favor. They showed the MAGA crowd that what they tolerated and even applauded in their leader, they would never put up with from someone else.

It will be January 12, which is Pigboy's birthday.

“Citizens of this state are encouraged to celebrate the day by participating in appropriate events and activities to remember the life of the famous Missourian and groundbreaking radio host,” the legislation says.

I know! I know! To remember the life of the "famous Missourian and groundbreaking radio host," on January 12 I pledge to go to Home Depot and purchase 50 bags of steer manure. A little while back, Florida had only 36% born in the state. The else came from elsewhere. How many are retirees from the Middle-West and the North East, what is their socio-economic status? Cubans are taught (as are many others) Democrats are socialists, and all socialists are exactly like the worst one they can think of. The Panhandle counties are those that are native Floridians, and they are extensions of Georgia, and Alabama.

There is constant infighting and the Party is structurally broken.

The one shining star at the local level is Rep. Anna Eskamani. She is fantastic and has a huge following in Orlando. That said, the state party holds her at arm’s length (at best). The party bosses should get then hell out of the way and let her lead. Her constituent services outreach is fantastic. Her social media presence is phenomenal. The entire party should be following her lead. But unfortunately it does not. Morons.

It's an embarrassment to the people of Florida to have an asshat like DeSatan run the state like it's his own kingdom.

There are good folks in FL, but their government and the voting system has been trashed and is under the complete control of the GOP.

DeSantis will not only get away with this, he will earn brownie points with his terrified, hate-ridden base.

Desantis is basically Trump’s mini me. If they love Trump/Desantis then majority are probably with flags being lowered for Rush Limbaugh.

His priorities are quite clear and his supporters priorities are clear. DeSantis supports the marginalization and/or oppression of people that differ culturally from his own background.

Support DeSantis and you are supporting racism.
